12-12-12: A day of multiples

SOUTH BEND, Ind. --  It was a day of multiples. On 12-12-12, there were special events celebrating the big day all across Michiana from weddings, to birthdays, even a baby born around 12:12 p.m.

"I think they wanted it 12 minutes later so it would be 12-12-12, 12:12," said Ryan Madison.

People all across Michiana have "12 Fever", especially the Madison family who had their first little baby boy Thomas Madison at noon Wednesday. Baby Thomas has five older sisters who have been fighting over holding him all day.

"He was coming, he had his own plan, so 12 that's something," said Madison.

Little Thomas Madison shares his birthday with another 12, Aubrei Donica, who was born in 2000 and turned 12 years old.

"Happy birthday Aubrei. We love you," said Tina Donica.

"It feels really good because I am going to be the last 12-12-12 for 100 years," said Aubrei Donica.

While the sun was shining Wednesday, 12 years ago when Aubrei was born, it was a different story.

"We woke up at 3 a.m. and there was a blizzard," said Tina Donica.

The city actually had to plow a path from the Donica household all the way to Memorial Hospital, and that was not the only weather complication.

"My doctor was stuck in his driveway so we actually had to wait two hours," said Tina Donica.

Luckily little Aubrei was brought into the world safely and 12 years later her mom could not be more proud of her 12-year-old baby.

"She is just the kindest soul. She would do anything for anyone. She has never said a mean thing about anyone," said Tina Donica.

She said Aubrei's lucky birthday was unplanned.

"Someone said they didn't know Aubrei's birthday fall in Dec. 12 in 2012 and I was like, 'Oh my gosh she does,'" said Tina Donica.

Aubrei has been showered with "Happy Birthdays" all day long.

She celebrated the day with her family at Hacienda.
