14-year-old arrested for allegedly making threats towards school

LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. – Michigan City Police Department has arrested a 14-year-old for threats made allegedly toward a school on social media on Monday just before 1 am.

The Investigative Division alongside School Resource Office Cpl. Scott Combs was contacted and immediately started the investigation. Interviews were conducted and detectives were able to identify the student who was allegedly making threats.

Police were able to establish probable cause and a warrant for the 14-year-old’s arrest was made. Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident. Witnesses are continuing to be interviewed.

Due to this investigation continuing to be ongoing, additional information cannot be released at this time.
