SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The South Bend Police helped save lives in a different way Thursday, at the 16th Annual Indiana Fallen Officer Blood Drive at the South Bend Police department.
The event had a great turnout with more than 60 people coming out to donate and do their part to help end the blood shortage.
Maryann Gast, blood donor recruit specialist, stated, " We are very very much in need. We are behind. Summer months are very hard because people are on vacation. Of course, there's more accidents."
There are donation drives every day, just visit givebloodnow.com to find future blood drives.
