SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Hundreds of volunteers came together to help rebuild a South Bend neighborhood.
Thursday, the mayor's office announced 18 homes in LaSalle Park will be fixed up next month.
Most of those homes are owned by the elderly or disabled.
Mayor Pete Buttigieg talked about his goals for the Rebuilding Together program.
"This is a city that cares about our neighborhoods, about the quality of our homes and quality of life in our neighborhoods," said Buttigieg.
This is the 25th year for the rebuilding effort.
Since 1989 the city has fixed up more than 800 homes.
