20 South Bend students given bikes, helmets and safety training

Twenty students who participate in the Boys and Girls Clubs of St. Joseph County after-school program at Harrison Primary Center were given bikes and helmets on Monday.

The bikes were collected at a recent bike drive held by South Bend Police and South Bend Fire.

The collected bikes as well as bikes donated from Goodwill were given to the students.

The helmets were donated by the Bike Michiana Coalition.

South Bend Police officer James Burns taught the students the rules of the road so they can enjoy their bikes safely this summer.
