ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart Police Department confirmed they are actively investigating a shooting with injuries that occurred in the 500 block of Viriginia Street Saturday morning. 

At approximately 3:06 a.m. the Elkhart City 911 Communications Center received a call of a shooting with injuries.

Elkhart Police Department officers and first responders arrived at the area shortly after.

Upon arrival, officers located a 20-year-old male with apparent gunshot wounds in an apartment. Officers administered first aid at the scene.

The male was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.

His current condition is unknown.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation and no arrests have been made.
