Westbound I-94 reopens after 29-vehicle pileup

HARTFORD, Mich. – At least one person was injured in a 29-vehicle pileup on I-94 near Hartford that closed the westbound lanes Friday morning. The road reopened around 12:30 p.m.

According to Michigan State Police, the crash happened around 9:20 a.m. during a heavy bout of lake effect snowfall.

There were 17 semi-trailers and 12 passenger car involved in the crash.

MSP says the exact amount of injuries is not clear but one person was pinned in his vehicle for a short period of time.
