3 arrested in connection with Jellystone Park campground burglaries
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. -- Three men were arrested in connection with burglaries at campsites at the Jellystone Park near Pierceton, according to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.
Monday night around 11 p.m., the sheriff's department received a complaint of a possible burglary in progress at the campgrounds.
One suspect was located on the property and was taken into custody.
The two other suspects fled from the area and led officers on a two county chase. The chase ended when the suspects crashed in Whitley County on US 30.
Deputies say the suspects stole electronics, coins and firearms from 18 lots at the campgrounds.
Kenneth Sanchez, 19, was taken into custody at the campground.
Michael Chapman, 28, was driving the car that crashed in Whitley County.
Thomas Ankrom, 29, was a passenger in the car that crashed in Whitley County.
The exact charges were not released.
