South Bend community donates blood at Grace UMC
ELKHART, Ind. -- On April 17, the Hunger Ends Here coalition will receive more than $300,000 worth of food to support local families across Elkhart County.
The Hunger Ends Here coalition voted to invest 40,000 dollars securing this shipment of food that totaled in over 300,000 dollars in food value for the community. This food will be distributed to local food pantries and non-profit organizations to help those in the county fighting food insecurities. Two semi-trucks loaded with pallets were brought to the Gymtown Food Bank, bringing more food than anyone anticipated. Originally the team thought there would be around 50 pallets of food in total, but it ended up totaling over 10.
ABC57's Sidney Moore visited the Gymtown Food Bank to speak the Executive Director Pam Bingaman about the incoming donation.
