33-year-old Osceola man sentenced to 7 years in prison for firearm offense

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The United States Attorney’s Office Northern District of Indiana announced 33-year-old Randolph Ramey, of Osceola, was sentenced after pleading guilty to being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Ramey was sentenced to 7 years in prison followed by 2 years of supervised release.

Court documents in the case state in August 2023, Ramey broke into a Mishawaka business and was detained while inside.

Documents state when police arrived and arrested Ramey, they found a loaded 9mm firearm in his pocket, along with several knives, a rope, bolt cutters, a lock pick kit, and a second loaded magazine for the firearm.

Court documents go on to state Ramey had previously been convicted of a felony offense and was prohibited from having the firearm or ammunition in this case.
