An alumnus has donated $35 million to the University of Notre Dame and $25 million of the donation is for the construction of a 280,000 square foot building.
Richard Corbett is putting $25 million toward the construction of Corbett Family Hall. That will house the departments of anthropology and psychology as well as a new digital media center.
The remaining $10 million is an endowment to the head coach position for Notre Dame's football team. Coach Brian Kelly's salary will no longer be paid by the University.
Construction of the Corbett Family Hall began in November 2014 and will be finished by August 2017.
