5 juveniles, 1 adult arrested after fight at Clay High School

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Five juveniles were arrested following a large fight at Clay High School that happened during dismissal. Three St. Joseph County Police officers suffered minor injuries in the incident.

Police say there were several small fights between students throughout the day Thursday. The School Resource Officer on site and staff were able to break up the fights.

Because of the previous fights that day, additional officers were patrolling the area when the fight happened, police said.

Five juveniles were arrested and taken to the Juvenile Justice Center.

An adult, Abigail Brown, 38, was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and intimidation. She is due to be released on her own recognizance.

The School Resource Officer had cuts and abrasions on his face, according to police.

The school administration will enforce appropriate disciplinary action consistent with the student code of conduct.
