Starke County face-to-face with severe weather
There's no snow in the first half of today with the exception of few lingering flurries. Temperatures sit near freezing, but a large low pressure system arrives this afternoon, bringing widespread snow into Michiana beginning around 1 PM EST in La Porte, Starke, and Pulaski Counties. The heaviest snow falls from 5 PM EST to midnight, warranting extreme caution on the roads due to dangerous travel conditions and increased holiday traffic. More than 3 inches is possible in southern Michigan and far northern Indiana with gradually decreasing amounts as you head south. If you don't have to drive this evening or late tonight, then don't. Snow wraps up before sunrise tomorrow morning and 2026 starts of on a quieter but still very cold note. Temperatures stay below freezing through the weekend.
Today: PM snow. High 32.
Tonight: Snow showers. Low 15.
Thursday: Overcast. High 22.
Friday: Mostly cloudy. High 26.
