ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – The 525 Foundation hosted the second annual Say Boo to Drugs event on Thursday evening, putting attendees in the Halloween spirit while also raising awareness about the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse.
Despite the rain and chilly temperatures, a large crowd came out to Howard Park for the event, which featured food trucks, music, safe trick-or-treating, and the chance to meet with local law enforcement and prevention organizations.
“You know as a mother of 4 I always loved a safe trick or treating event. You know we were kinda hoping the word got out that other families would feel the same way and want to bring their families out,” said Becky Savage, founder of the 525 Foundation.
Savage started the organization after losing her two sons to substance abuse in 2015.
In October, Savage released a book, titled “#ONECHOICE”, that’s now available to preorder.
Book will ship late November/beginning of December, according to the 525 Foundation Facebook page.
