8-Year-old Benton Harbor girl hit by car

BENTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- An 8-year-old Benton Harbor girl is in critical condition after she was hit by a car!

It happened on Wednesday just before 5 p.m. in Benton Township.

Police said Debra Kiser ran into the road, right in front of an oncoming car!

She was taken to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo with a head injury.

The 74-year-old driver was not hurt.

Witnesses told police that the driver did not appear to be speeding, and alcohol was not a factor.

Right now, no charges have been filed.
