At the federal hearing in Pulaski County on Aug. 20, the judge ordered the indictment from May to be unsealed.

Muir's new charges are in regard to him allegedly knowingly making a false statement and representation to a licensed firearm dealer during the acquisition of a firearm on Nov. 7, 2025.

There's no future court dates set for this case.

Muir was previously arrested in summer 2024 after his son was reported missing, only to later be found at the family's home in Logansport, Indiana.

Muir was subsequently charged with Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, a Level 5 Felony, Obstruction of Justice, a Level 5 Felony, Obstruction of Justice, a level 6 Felony, and Domestic Battery, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Muir's trial was initially set for Jan. 13 but was rescheduled to Sept. 28.
