Greg Flammang breaks down matchup between Notre Dame and Louisville

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Greg Flammang with Irish Sports Daily breaks down Louisville's passing game and Notre Dame's run game through Riley Leonard.

Notre Dame's run game through QB Riley Leonard:

"Louisville's had trouble with some of the quarterback run games so far in 2024 you see here last week against Georgia Tech, they're going to be running a lot of similar action to what Notre Dame did against Miami, Ohio. On the long run, similar to the Riley Leonard touchdown, a bunch of down blocks, a seal block, and then you get a run in for a touchdown from Haynes King, the Georgia Tech quarterback, someone who Notre Dame is going to see later in the year. As you can see, this is very similar to what Notre Dame Notre Dame's going to have down block, down block, down block, just like Georgia Tech. We're going to get a kick out here, and then Riley Leonard's able to take this ball to the house right up the middle again. Louisville has struggled with this so far this season, and this wasn't a factor in last year's game against the cardinal on the road. So today, Notre Dame is going to look to exploit Riley Leonard's legs. Just have they have all season.

Louisville's successful passing game:

"Louisville had success against Georgia Tech with crossing rock concepts, either players getting caught up in traffic, bad angles, or otherwise busts in the secondary. This is something that Notre Dame is going to have to key on in the game this afternoon. They've been very good at this. Jordan Clark, Ben Morrison, and we're going to see Christian Gray, did good against Texas A&M. Notre Dame has always been organized in the back here, and they're going to have to be today in order to slow down Louisville's passing game," Flammang said.
