NOW: Multiple agency SWAT operation recovers 200,000 doses of fentanyl

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Thursday's multiple agency SWAT operation yields enormous amounts of fentanyl, along with cash, guns, ammunition, and other types of illegal narcotics.

As a result of a year-long drugs investigation, three search warrants were executed simultaneously by Indiana State Police SWAT, St. Joseph County Metro SWAT, and South Bend Police Department SWAT in South Bend and Mishawaka.

Arrested were two men, Chris Harges, 32, and Trayvon Mason, 31. Chris Harges, of Mishawaka, is charged with Dealing a Narcotic Drug, a Level 2 Felony, Possession of a Narcotic Drug, a Level 3 Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Invasion of Privacy, and Neglect of a Dependent.

The second suspect, Trayvon Mason of South Bend is facing charges of Dealing a Narcotic Drug, a Level 2 Felony, Possession of a Narcotic Drug, a Level 3 Felony, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Neglect of a Dependent, and Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon.

The locations raided early Thursday were in the 1500 block of Liberty Drive in Mishawaka, the 1300 block of Sorin St., and the 1900 block of E. Calvert Street, both in South bend. The house raided in Mishawaka had a 7-year-old child in the home at the time, and one of the homes in South Bend had four minors present.

Seized during the raids were large amounts of cash, multiple firearms, including a modified machine gun, cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, ecstasy, and nearly two pounds of fentanyl - enough for 200,000 deadly doses.

Harges and Mason were taken to St. Joseph County Jail.
