ABC 57 Exclusive: LIVE from a marijuana sweep in St. Joseph County

ST. JOSEPH CO., Ind. -- The Indiana State Police gave ABC 57 News exclusive access to a marijuana ground sweep.

The sweep started on Saturday from the air when police got a bird's eye view of pot growing in fields.

ABC 57's Jessie McDonough went along for the ride to bring you the story from an undisclosed location, surrounded by wild-growing marijuana plants.

It was a little dangerous because, so far, officers have not made an arrest in this bust and don't want the growers to know they are on the property.

Police made our reporter wear a bulletproof vest for safety.

This discovery all started with a fly over of six different counties.

Police collected about 200 plants on Wednesday.

According to police, that's about $500,000 worth of weed.
