SOUTH BEND, Ind. – ABC57 News has earned the prestigious national Edward R. Murrow Award for “Excellence in Video.”
The award by Radio Television Digital News Association recognizes ‘Skyline Skepticism’ by ABC57 Chief Meteorologist Tom Coomes, which includes the explanation of a weather phenomenon and the debunking of the “Flat Earth Theory.”
Coomes says he loves sharing his love for science and is honored to be nationally recognized for his hard work.
This is ABC57’s second Murrow Award in just two years, the last being in 2015 for feature reporting.
“To be recognized twice by colleagues in our industry is a remarkable honor,” said Aaron Ramey, General Manager, WBND-TV.
This award will be presented during the RTDNA Edward R. Murrow Awards Gala in New York City in October.
