Additional discovery of fetal remains in Klopfer’s car trunk brings total to 2,411
INDIANAPOLIS—The additional fetal remains found on October 9 in the trunk of a car of a late Indiana abortion doctor has brought the total remains found to 2,411, according to Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill.
Hill’s office said Friday that an additional 165 fetal remains were found in the trunk of a car in Dolton, Illinois on October 12 by the family of the now-deceased abortionist Dr. Ulrich Klopfer.
The remains found on Wednesday are believed to be from abortions performed in 2002.
On September 12, 2,246 preserved fetal remains were found at Klopfer’s Illinois home when family members were going through belongings.
Klofper passed away at the age of 79 on September 3.
Throughout his career, Klopfer performed abortions at clinics in South Bend, Fort Wayne and Gary. Hill's office said the fetal remains are believed to be from abortions performed at the Indiana clinics.
Hill’s office said that the additional remains found Wednesday will be transported back to Indiana, following the same protocol used when the original fetal remains were brought back to the state on October 2.
