Airport worker caught stealing from bags

MINNEAPOLIS -- Airport travelers are paying extra attention to their luggage after an airport employee was caught on camera allegedly stealing from passengers suitcases.

Police say the hidden camera sting set up by investigators caught the 23-year-old employee in the act.

When police searched his apartment they found a stock pile of passenger property worth roughly $84,000.

"When TSA is screening all of this luggage, they can literally look inside and see if there's anything there," said Charlie Leocha of Consumer Travel Alliance.

To keep your stuff safe when traveling never check your valuables, avoid using expensive looking luggage and if something is taken report it to both the airline and TSA.
