Akron asks residents to decorate homes, businesses for 4th of July

AKRON, Ind. -- The town of Akron is asking community members to decorate their homes and businesses for its Celebrate in Place Fourth of July holiday.

The town of Akron was founded on July 4, 1836 and is celebrate along with Independence Day every year.

This year, they are asking residents to decorate their houses, porches, front yards and storefronts to become this year's parade floats.

At 8 p.m., judges will parade through town and award the best decorated home and business. It will be live streamed on the Akron 4th of July Facebook page.
