BENTON HARBOR, Mich - The child who was the subject of an AMBER Alert Thursday was found safe in Benton Harbor and the suspect has been taken into custody.
ABC57 reporters witnessed 19-year-old Iyesha Catherine Gibbs being taken into custody in Benton Harbor.
Grand Rapids Police confirmed the 1-year-old was recovered in Benton Harbor and is safe.
Arrangements are being made to transfer both the child and the suspect to Grand Rapids.
Gibbs was babysitting 1-year-old Miquis Lamont Jenkins on August 1, but left with him around 1 p.m. and hadn't been seen since, according to a release by Grand Rapids Police.
An AMBER Alert was issued around 11 a.m. Thursday.
Gibbs was located near the Napier Mini Mart in Benton Harbor around 3 p.m.
Gibbs and her boyfriend were both taken into custody. A second man is being sought, but police have not provided additional details about the second man.
