Annual 'Civilians and Soldiers in History Day' at Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum

STARKE COUNTY, Ind. -- Steam and diesel train excursions will be held at the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum during the evening of July 18 and all day on July 19.
The event is celebrating the museum's annual 'Civilians and Soldiers in History Day'.
Passengers have the opportunity of riding in open-air sightseeing cars, a vintage coach, or first-class in a former Monon business car while traveling through the Northwest Indiana countryside.
The excursions are a round-trip beginning at the depot, to the Kankakee River, before returning to North Judson.
The total length of the trip is 45 minutes and ticket prices begin at $14.
Purchasing tickets through the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum website is recommended because seating will be limited.
Numerous displays from various eras of history will be on the museum grounds where admission is always free.
Military and civilian reenactors will explain displays, answer questions and participate in scheduled demonstrations.
Stroll around the grounds to see one of the largest museum collections of working railroad signals and all types of rolling stock, engines, and memorabilia of a by-gone era.
