Applications open to audition for Oaklawn’s Got Talent, raises funds for psychiatric treatment
ELKHART, Ind. -- Oaklawn Psychiatric Center has opened applications to audition for Oaklawn's Got Talent, a fundraiser that features local acts while raising funds and awareness for psychiatric treatment.
Applications to audition are open through Oct. 18, with auditions on Nov. 3 at the Lerner Theatre in downtown Elkhart.
Contestants must live in Elkhart or St. Joseph County and will audition before a panel of judges.
Judges will pick four acts to advance to Oaklawn’s Got Talent on May 16, 2025.
There, the audience will vote to determine who wins a grand prize of $5,000. The three runners-up will each receive $1,800.
“Oaklawn’s Got Talent is so much more than a fundraiser – it’s a true talent contest and an awesome show,” said Becky Zakowski, Executive Director of the Oaklawn Foundation. “It gives us an opportunity to honor the role the arts play in mental wellbeing, while also showcasing the great work Oaklawn does in our community.”
Oaklawn officials plan to audition 30 acts at the Lerner Theatre on Nov. 3.
Acts can include a variety of talent, from singers/songwriters and bands, to comedians, magicians, dancers and more.
You can apply online today.
Oaklawn provides mental health and addiction treatment to 25,000 children, adolescents, and adults across campuses in Elkhart, Goshen, South Bend, and Mishawaka.
