Autopsies show deaths on Burdette Street were murder-suicide

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- A forensic pathologist has completed the autopsies on Joseph Banks and Trevor Danneffel, who were found deceased at a home on Burdette Street. The deaths were determined to be a murder-suicide.

The investigation found Banks and Danneffel were in a romantic relationship and lived together at the home.

Danneffel shot Banks, then called the Mishawaka Police dispatch center to report he had shot Banks, reports said.

Danneffel shot himself before officers could make contact with him.
