Benford Davis sentenced in the murder of Sherry Houston

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind.—Benford Davis has been sentenced to 65 years in prison for the murder of 57-year-old Sherry Houston in March 2018, according to our reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.
A jury found Davis, 51, guilty in August of murdering Houston. He was sentenced on September 26.
Houston was strangled in her Prairie Street home in March 2018. She had a relationship with Davis in the weeks before her death, according to the prosecutor’s office.
