BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – Members of the community held a memorial walk on Thursday for court officers Joseph Zangaro and Ronald Kienzle who were slain in a deadly shooting at the Berrien County Courthouse.
The shooting occurred in July of 2016.
There was a moment of silence was held for Zangaro and Kienzle at the their memorial’s on Lake Bluff Park.
An officer who attended the walk remarked that “it’s an event that will never be forgotten for us, but we want to publically show for their sacrifice that they gave that day.”
The shooter was killed by two bailiffs after killing Zangaro and Kienzle.
Deputy James Atterberry was also shot but survived.
