Berrien Springs' Denkins named to Michigan Board of Dentistry
BERRIEN SPRINGS, Mich. -- On Thursday, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer appointed multiple people to multiple boards and committees across the state, one of those appointments was Delbert Denkins, of Berrien Springs, being named to the Michigan Board of Dentistry.
Denkins is a commercial real estate appraisal and evaluation manager at Huntington National Bank and who previously worked as chief appraiser at Chemical Bank in St. Joseph and as commercial real estate appraiser at Feasibility Research Group.
He is licensed in the State of Michigan as a certified general real estate appraiser. He earned a Bachelor of Economics from Eastern Michigan University and a master's degree in management, strategy, and leadership from Michigan State University.
"Denkins is appointed to represent the general public for a term commencing Oct. 10, 2024, and expiring June 30, 2027," the governor's office said. "Denkins succeeds Fonda Brewer, whose term has expired."
The Michigan Board of Dentistry was formed to regulate the practice of dentistry and dental hygiene, authorize dental assistants, and certify specialists in the fields of orthodontics, endodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, and oral pathology.
Gov. Whitmer also made appointments to the Michigan Women’s Commission, Michigan Beef Industry Commission, Board of Barber Examiners, Military Appeals Tribunal, Statewide Housing Partnership, and the Michigan Wildlife Council, and Commission on Middle Eastern Affairs.
The appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
