Boy Scouts to consider lifting longtime ban on gays

The Boy Scouts of America are now considering lifting its longtime ban on gays and lesbians.

The scouts could let local charter organizations decide for themselves whether to accept gay members and leaders.

The move comes after a petition was started. More than 250,000 signed it demanding the scouts end the ban on openly gay membership.
