Burglar arrested after allegedly drinking homeowner's beer, watching TV

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. -- A 47-year-old man from Colon was arrested after allegedly breaking into a home, drinking the homeowner's beer, watching television and stealing two firearms, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies were called to the 28000 block of Pleasant Road on Tuesday for a burglary in progress.

When they arrived, they discovered a 47-year-old man had broken into the home, stole two firearms and other miscellaneous items, reports said.

They also learned the person sampled a beer from the refrigerator and turned on the homeowner's television.

The suspect is facing preliminary charges of home invasion in the first degree, larceny in a building, felony firearms and larceny of firearms.

The suspect's name is being withheld pending arraignment.
