Bypass clear after semi trailers unhook during drive

The driver of a semi pulling two trailers on the US20 bypass in Mishawaka pulled off to the side of the road after realizing one of the trailers became unhooked.

The driver then moved his cab behind the trailers to keep them lit for drivers in the area.

The semi caused traffic to slow near the Mayflower Road exit, but no lanes were closed.

The semi driver was uninjured and there was no damage.

There is ongoing construction about a quarter of a mile away from where the semi is, and traffic is condensed down to one lane.

A wrecker went to the scene to help clear the trailers.
