Elkhart structure fire in the 25000 block of County Road 36
CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sherriff's Department responded to a stabbing on High Street at around 4 a.m. on Jan 26 in Jones Michigan.
Upon arriving, officers found a 56-year-old male who had suffered multiple knife wounds.
Police were able to control the bleeding until first responders arrived to transport him to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment.
Shortly after, police arrested a 20-year-old male suspect near the residence. The investigation indicates that there was a domestic assault that had taken place in the residence between the male suspect and a female individual, along with the victim who also lives in the residence.
The victim is said to have received his injuries after becoming involved in the altercation.
The Sheriff's Department is withholding the name of the accused suspect until arraignment.
The incident remains under investigation.
