The Cassopolis Rangers basketball team had already captured some history heading into the state quarterfinals, their first appearance that deep in the state tournament in 30 years.
However, that's where the run ended. The Rangers fell 70-50 to Pewamo-Westphalia in the quarterfinals.
“I didn’t want it to end for them and it hurts," said head coach Ricky Evans. "They thought we were going to keep going. But what I told them in the locker room is they can’t keep their heads down. They outworked us tonight and we lost this one, but you can’t take away from the season we had. Hadn’t happened in 30 years, and I’m so proud of those guys.”
