C'Borius Flemister charged with leaving the scene of an accident
Charges have been filed against C'Borius Flemister for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident on April 25.
Flemister was charged on May 6 with one misdemeanor count of leaving the scene of an accident.
At 3 a.m., a South Bend Police officer located a BMW 535 crashed on South Bend Avenue near Howard Street, reports said.
The driver of the vehicle was not at the scene.
Police reports say it appeared the vehicle was westbound on South Bend Avenue, ran off the roadway into the concrete median, causing damage to the vehicle and the median. The vehicle came to a stop in the road.
The vehicle was registered to Flemister.
Police located Flemister that day and he said the car had been taken without permission from Eddy Street Commons, according to the probable cause affidavit.
Flemister then agreed to speak with police on May 3 about the incident.
During the interview he acknowledged he was driving the car at the time of the crash and left the scene before police arrived, according to the probable cause affidavit.
Flemister is a running back for the Notre Dame football team.
