CDC: Hepatitis outbreak linked to frozen berry mix

ATLANTA — Health officials are saying that a potentially lethal hepatitis outbreak could be linked frozen berries.

Officials from the Centers for Disease Control report that a man who fell ill purchased the frozen organic berry mix from Costco.

At least 30 people have become six from the berries.

A Fairview Farms attorney says the contamination likely stems from pomegranate seeds purchased in Turkey.

The FDA warns that Hepatitis-A is a highly contagious liver infection. Symptoms can include fatigue, fever and joint pain.
