Local daycare offers relief from heat with ’Hot Car Initiative’
MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Around 40 people gathered Tuesday outside of Congressman Rudy Yakym’s Mishawaka office to protest the so-called “One big beautiful bill”.
That bill passed through the senate thanks to a tie-breaking vote by Vice President JD Vance Tuesday afternoon.
Protestors are concerned about public healthcare systems like Medicaid and Medicare, which could lose funding as a result of the federal bill.
They also expressed concerns over Indiana Senate Bill 2, which took effect Tuesday, alongside a number of other new laws.
ABC57 reached out to Congressman Yakym’s office for comment but did not receive a response.
