Change of venue denied in trial of alleged Jon Samuelson shooter

La Porte County Jail LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- A change of venue request for the trial of the man accused of shooting La Porte County deputy Jon Samuelson in an ER has been denied.
A pre-trial hearing for Sharod Grafton will go on in the county October 9.
La Porte County Prosecutor Sean Fagan previously offered Grafton a plea deal; it would remove weapons enhancement charges, which would have added a potential 15 to 20 years to Grafton's sentence.
