City of Elkhart departments launch "The Christmas Miracle Project"

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – City of Elkhart departments worked with volunteers to complete a project they named “The Christmas Miracle Project.”

The goal of this project was to increase lighting displays on the Civic Plaza, Central Park, and the River Walk to bring some much-needed feelings of joy this year.

Families are encouraged to start at the Civic Plaza and take family pictures at the photo booth with a seasonal backdrop.  

After taking family pictures, visitors are encouraged to walk through Central Park, continuing down the River walk to head to the NIBCO Ice Rink.

Completing the path, after the Ice Rink, stop at the Lerner Theatre to see the new festive window lighting display.

The City hopes to work with community partners and volunteers in future years to continue adding festive elements and expand further down the river walk.

Visitors can see the new lightning displays until the second week of January.
