Groundbreaking for phase two of ’The Cascade’
SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- There's a new final 4 in South Bend and we're not talking basketball. The City of South Bend Common Council will host a public forum on March 20 with the finalists for Director of the Community Police Review Board Office.
The forum will be held at 7 p.m. inside the St. Joesph County Public Library, bringing the city one step closer to the community police review board activists have been calling for the past 3 years.
Henry Davis Jr and Mayor James Mueller are excited, saying the meeting is a long time coming.
Residents will be introduced to the four final candidates at the forum, a step closer to the board but groups like Black Lives Matter have criticized the way the selection process is being handled, needing all questions sent in 48 hours in advance, not even knowing who the candidates are before the forum, and that only 4 council members will make the final decision.
