Clay Township residents now able to purchase water leak insurance

CLAY TOWNSHIP, Ind. — Residents of unincorporated Clay Township can now get water leak insurance.

For $2 a month, residents can be covered for pipe or valve breaks that occur before the water meter.

It could potentially save residents thousands in water repair bills.

It does not apply to water lines underneath hard surfaces, such as patios, storage barns or sprinkler service lines.

The insurance fee will be added to residents' city water bill later in March.
