MISHAWAKA, Ind. – With a clothing drive scheduled at University Park Mall in early August, Mishawaka students are receiving some extra help for the beginning of the school year.
The clothing drive will take place from August 2 through August 4 during regular mall hours.
The Mishawaka High School Alumni Association, the organization in charge of the clothing drive, is seeking socks, shirts, shorts, and sweatshirts for students who are in need.
Clothing donations of all sizes will be accepted for students of ages 13 through 18.
“Preparing for the coming school year is about more than notebooks and pencils,” Heidi Peebles said, who is a member of the Mishawaka High School Alumni Association. “We’ve found that some of our older students cannot attend school because they don’t have appropriate clothing to wear. We’re looking forward to meeting members of the Mishawaka community as they come together to support these wonderful students.”
Donation boxes will be set up in The Pop-Up Shop across from the Apple store.
The Association says that the first 100 donators will receive a $5 Macy’s gift card.
