SOUTH BEND, Ind. --- Pulaski Park on South Bend’s West Side now boasts more than $1 million in renovations.
There’s a brand new splash pad, playground equipment, irrigated soccer fields, and a basketball court.
The park is just one of more than 40 parks in South Bend getting a facelift under the My South Bend Parks and Trails initiative; the single largest investment project in South Bend’s history.
Mayor James Mueller was joined by other community leaders for the ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday.
The pavilion and fields at the park have been dedicated to civil rights activists Dolores Huerta who famously fought for the betterment of conditions for migrant farmworkers as well as the Latino community. The dedication is a testament to the community it serves on the West Side.
