ELKHART, Ind – Congresswoman Jackie Walorski met with a not-for profit children and family services agency after her bill to speed up foster care placement was signed into law Wednesday.
The Villiages is Indiana’s largest not-for profit child and family services agency.
"We are just here today at villages, hearing from some of these foster parents that are involved in this process here, that know what it's like to adopt and know what it's like to foster and adopt as well. And to ask what's next? What else can we do?" The congresswoman said.
Congresswoman Walorski introduced the bill to Improve interstate foster placement in 2017.
The law utilizes an electronic system to alleviate interstate adoption delays and costs.
