Conservation officers recover 5 stolen cars during training exercise

MARION COUNTY, Ind. -- Indiana Conservation Officers who were training on the White River near Raymond Street discovered five submerged vehicles.

All five vehicles were marked for search and removal.

On Thursday, members of the dive team with the help of Curtis Garage and Wrecker Service removed the vehicles from the river.

Investigators confirmed all five vehicles were reported stolen. Some were reported stolen back in 2008.

Indiana Conservation Officers Dive Team consists of 37 Public Safety SCUBA divers. They respond to and investigate drowning incidents and other types of water related investigations, including evidence recovery, vehicle recovery, swift water rescues and boat accidents across the state of Indiana.
