A cooler pattern is settling over Michiana with unseasonably chilly temperatures taking hold of the week.
Today, highs are expected to max out in the mid 70’s. Around this time of year, highs on average are in the lower 80’s. Although the average daily high temperature for the month is closer to 80°, we haven't seen an August without at least one 90° day since 2019.
The average number of days with highs at or above 90° for August over the past 30 years is 3. Nearly halfway through the month, we haven't had one yet.
We’ll stay cooler for a bit, but by this weekend, forecasts are trending towards above-average temperatures once again heading into the end of August.
