Cooling center opening up in Niles

NILES, Mich. -- Folks in Niles now have a place to cool off from the sweltering heat.

A cooling center is opening up and folks there are thrilled.

It's been so hot the city suspended its summer parks program for the rest of the week. The programs won't start again until Monday.

The new cooling center will be at the fire station on Main Street. It will stay open through the weekend.

Dial-A-Ride is even offering free trips to and from the center for people without a way to get there.
