Costco opens its first store in Michiana

The ribbon was cut Friday morning at Michiana's first Costco Wholesale store.
Before Friday, the closest Costco stores to the Michiana area were in Merrillville and Fort Wayne, Ind.
Owners of the new store say they received several thousand applications but they could only hire a few hundred workers.
The owners also said they believe their workers make their business successful.
