BERRIEN COUNTY, Ind. -- Recent data shows that COVID-19 case counts have risen by 50 percent over the past week for Berrien County residents.
With this increase, the data indicates that about 115 new positive COVID-19 cases are being confirmed each day in the county.
Positivity rates for COVID-19 cases are currently at the highest they have been in the county since the beginning of the pandemic.
One Berrien County doctor says the area’s children have had the largest increase in COVID-19 cases.
“The greatest increase in cases, not surprisingly, is in the 0 to 11 age group,” said Rex B. Cabaltica, MD.
Health experts are urging parents to get their children ages 5 and older vaccinated to lower the number of positive COVID-19 cases.
